If you wanted to make a bathing suit, with this method, I think that would work out just fine. I did that for a maternity swimsuit I made last year and it was great. Otherwise, I 8767 d look for one of those old-school suits with cups sewn in. You can sometimes find them at Lands 8767 End.

This is great. I have so many low-back/backless dresses I want to make this summer. And when I get around to making some practical tees like you 8767 re lovely red & white one I will definitely be doing this!
The simple fact of the matter is this: there is absolutely no proven link between wearing a bra and breast cancer. The American Cancer Society (ACS) confirms 8775 we do not know of any epidemiologic studies published in scientific journals that suggest bras directly contribute to breast cancer. 8776
OMG, this is FABULOUS!!! I spend thousands of dollars every year buying bras in the search for yet one more that will fit well and be comfortable (There's one wacoal that is perfecto for me). I have resorted to keeping a spreadsheet of all the styles I've tried and returned. But this! I will definitely be trying it. I keep saying I need a personal tailor because shopping off the rack makes me feel like a freak of nature. THANKS!
very nice tutorial, very cute top. I love it. thanks for taking the time to show it. I am all about making my yoga tops and swimsuits. You are obviously very talented and think outside of the box, which I love. Jnetti.
Uhm. I thought you might a genius when I met you and now I 8767 m sure. This is all kinds of awesome! I 8767 m tempted to print this out so I can give it away to every fool wearing a regular bra with low back shirt on the street. I would need a LOT of copies.
I absolutely love this tutorial! I 8767 m really starting to get into DIY and sewing. I saw in the previous comments you were discussing maybe trying this with existing tops/dresses. Did you ever figure that out? And if so could you send me the link?
Again, this is great and I will have to try it!
What I can say is that this tutorial is relatively easy, and you can do it on a home machine. My tank top pattern happens to be self-drafted, form-fitting, and low-backed. If you were to do this technique with a looser tank, you 8767 d just need to make the bra section tighter/more form fitting. I sew most of my seams with a serger, but you can easily sew a stretchy tank on a regular machine using a stretch stitch.
